Hi I’m Ace 🙂

I am an astrologer.

I started my practice in 2015 during my first adult Jupiter return. It was a time during which I questioned my existence. I didn’t understand why I was alive and the part of me that questioned my existence kept asking me to justify existing. I felt as though I had to prove myself and to explain who I am before I was allowed to be. There are parts of what it means to be me—my racialization, my sexualization, and my queerness—that not everyone believes. The world made me very uncomfortable. When I say this, I mean that it squeezed me, cut me open, and that it distorted me.

When I looked to astrology, I was looking for a lot of things—purpose, community, love, and change.

I have one core value. I believe in life.

We don’t know what life really is and we’ll never finish describing it for as long as we are alive. Life is the most urgent, necessary, and mysterious thing in the world. Life is magic.

I affirm the ethics of life in defiance of eugenics. Eugenics is a system that treats as forms of life as more valuable than others, tries to control and reform life, and theorizes that life is more pure when it is innocent.

Life is a wilderness. It is splintering. It can never be controlled. Life is survival. There is no innocence or heroism in survival. Survival does not provide neat solutions. However, it is mystical.

Life is change. Life is necessary.

I know that colonized life, queer life, trans life, and disabled life has shaped the world just as powerfully as the systems that we try to dismantle. I know that our survival is the source of our power.

This website is mostly a place where I share my writing. Writing is a part of my practice but not the extent of it. I also host workshops or make zines, run a community space that meets up once a month, and do client sessions. I have a book out called Postcolonial Astrology.
