I had a conversation the other day about Leo and Aquarius styles of sharing. Wanted to write a few thoughts here to see what others think.

So, the thing about Aquarius is that they can be quite exacting. I’m not kidding about this. I once knew an Aquarius who would charge you two cents for bumming a rolling paper off of them. This isn’t an atypical case either when it comes to people with prominent Aquarius placements. Aquarius likes to keep track of what they have given out.

Leos, on the other hand, are always trying to give you shit. They give you stuffed animals, jewelry, little gifts that they just happened to see and thought that you might like. That’s just part of being around a Leo. You get gifts. And Leo doesn’t even really remember what they have given you. They do not keep track. Leos also expect you to give them gifts not just on their birthdays but in general. They will expect gifts at certain times. If you don’t give them anything, they will also tell you that they are disappointed.

On the flip side, Aquarius will never ask you for anything. If Aquarius needs rolling papers, they’re not going to ask you if they can have any even if you just took out some and they saw it. They’re never going to ask you for anything for their birthdays. They’re just not going to do it.

Of course, both Aquarius and Leo have good reason for behaving the way they do. Aquarius season is the season of the cold and distant sun. Aquarius season comes during late winter when you’re pretty much out of food for the year. It’s the hardest time nutritionally. That sun is not giving out its light freely without thinking. You’re not going to be sharing your food without keeping track and that’s because you want everyone to survive. You’re going to be taking a realistic look at your situation and not try to dodge the truth. That’s Aquarius as a personality in a nutshell.

Leo season is the hottest time of the year when the sun is closest and brightest. A lot of fruits and vegetables are in season during Leo season. Squashes, tomatoes, garlic, and the list goes on. You’re going to be sharing your food during Leo season unless you want some of your produce to rot away. That big and bright sun is going to be expelling light quite generously as well.

Now, this article is about why Scorpios like Aquarius so much. I’m getting there. I’m trying to make a case that there’s enough room in our world and seasonal cycles for both Leo and Aquarius methods of sharing first.

In the mind of an Aquarius, they have trouble asking for things that they need. They’re not going to ask you for anything so that means that they’re going to feel some level of anxiety around what they give out. They don’t really expect any kind of return. That’s why Aquarius is the way it is. They want things to be fair and they know that, because they don’t ask for anything, that things will not be fair unless they keep track of what they give out. This isn’t just for resources but about attention too. That’s why Aquarius has the reputation of being disinterested in so many things.

Leo? Leo has a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and gives it all away freely. Leos tend to have too much stuff which is why some of the things they give you happen to be well used. Leos have no trouble asking so they’re also going to be generous when giving.

Now, for the question that I wrote this article to ask. Which do you prefer?

It’s an interesting question, right? Both signs have to do with sharing and we all need both strategies at different moments of our lives. I mean, if you’re down to your last bag of grains and the winter is still cold then you’re not going to want to dole it out generously. You’re going to want to keep track so that everyone has enough. If you have only one jar of a homemade sauce that your grandma made you and your grandma lives on a different continent, then you’re not going to let your roommate dig their spoon in it while watching TV.

Some things in life are quite precious. Sometimes, that has nothing to do with how much something costs but what that thing means to you.

I think that Aquarius style sharing can give us a lot of relief when times are tight and about resources that must be well guarded. Aquarius treats things like they are precious. Aquarius style sharing can also allow people who are more self protective to relax.

Now, we typically associate resource building and sharing with the fixed signs of Taurus and Scorpio because Taurus is the season of everything blooming and Scorpio is the season of everything wilting. But all fixed signs have something to do with resource management. Leo is the hot season. Aquarius is the cold. Leo season is when fruits are fresh and Aquarius season is when you run out of food.

Taurus and Scorpio come during the spring and fall. Taurus is the flower season when the soil starts to give us prosperity. That’s why Taurus is not nearly as stingy as Aquarius despite popular assumptions around Taurus and resource saving. A Taurus will enjoy what is around and what they happen to have. They believe in building more, not holding onto more. They want to use what they have to produce stuff.

But Scorpio? Scorpio is the season when things die. That’s fermentation season and fermentation is about preservation. You store a bunch of fruit from Leo season and you put it in jars so that they might last you through the winter. You have to trade and cooperate with each other during Scorpio season to prepare for the long winter ahead. That’s why Scorpio loves contractual relationships and commitment.

Yes, all fixed signs are obsessed with each other to some extent but I have noticed that there is more sympathy between Taurus and Leo and then between Scorpio and Aquarius. Taurus and Leo kind of get each other. Taurus is trying to make more and Leo is trying to share everything. Scorpio and Aquarius? Scorpio is trying to preserve more while Aquarius is trying to account for everything.

The reason why that Scorpio you know is so obsessed with a random Aquarius all the time is because that Aquarius gives Scorpio the impression of peacefulness. Aquarius assures Scorpio that they’re going to take things seriously. They don’t just share information willy nilly. They don’t share resources without keeping track. They’re not trying to give their attention out to anyone and everyone. Aquarius assures Scorpio that anything Scorpio shares with them will be treated as precious. Aquarius is also very realistic and that gives truth seeking Scorpio reassurance.

Aquarius appreciates Scorpio but I think that it’s Scorpio who is more interested in Aquarius because fermentation season prepares us for late winter. Scorpio provides for Aquarius, not the other way around. Scorpio is more aware of Aquarius while Aquarius will usually look around and find that a Scorpio is present. Aquarius can rely on Scorpio.

Again, all fixed signs have some level of sympathy with each other because they are all very aware of what they have given and what they receive. But there are two fixed signs that are about preparing for the winter and about surviving the winter. Those two signs want to be taken seriously. They don’t share things, information, or rolling papers without thinking. They will gravitate towards each other. That’s why Scorpio is obsessed with Aquarius.
