Jia Wood Born In The Month Of The Dragon

April 27, 2026, 11:44 a.m.

Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon still has that fire spitting, wild side that all Jia Wood born in the spring has. However, the month of the Dragon is unlike the other months of the spring. The month of the Dragon is the time of transformation, when the spring starts to turn into the summer.

The different is stark. Jia Wood in the month of the Dragon sits on its Indirect Wealth Spirit where it takes all kinds of risks and makes its gamble. In the month of the Dragon, Jia Wood has a tendency to look like a hustler.

Don't get me wrong. People with Jia Wood day master born in the month of the Dragon are highly competent. They have skill or talent or whatever you want to call it. They can talk faster than you can think and this means that they can have you eating out of the palm of their hand in a heartbeat. Once they've learned their craft, no one can beat them. These people are brilliant. That's already a given.

When you're already brilliant, then you need a little more to achieve. You need a goal.

People with Jia Wood day master born in the month of the Dragon need one thing and one thing only—Seven Killings. They must become warriors. They must develop drive and purpose and all the stuff that one usually needs to go through hardship to find. Without a goal, then Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon gets overwhelmed by their own obligations because of the issue of talent. Their life can grow chaotic when they take too much random responsibility on.

When you are born with Indirect Wealth as month command, you run the risk of trusting your own skills too much. When you let your own skills talk for you, then you start to let your competency make your decisions for you instead of you deciding what you're going to do. You start project after project, thinking that the next one will pay for this one, and you lose yourself because you're always taking bets that you can win—but am what cost?

Jia Wood is a tree. Once it meets the month of the Dragon which is around April, the tree puts all of its energy into generating a couple beautiful blooms at its tips. These blooms are bets. They might pay off. They might not. The tree will generate them regardless.

In the month of the Dragon, Jia Wood has already become mature wood. These people know what is going on. They are no longer naive and impressionable like the early spring wood of the month of the Tiger or Rabbit. Mature wood needs to face hardship, to face Seven Killings in the form of Geng Metal. When Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon has Geng Metal in the Heavenly Stems of the natal chart, it's no longer just a skilled or crafty individual. It's signifies a person who is willing to bear the weight of great responsibility and lead. If Geng Metal is next to Jia Wood day master in the month stem or the hour stem, then even better. The person is willing to face power headon and fight.

However, Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon is not meant to be one of those snobby people who polish their ideas too precisely. Metal in the spring is coarse and vulgar. Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon needs exactly that coarse metal, the kind that makes your personality loud and rough. It no longer needs fire because fire will refine metal.

Jia Wood in the month of the Dragon is the street teacher, the guy who is willing to get deep in the weeds with you before they make their mind up fully. They need to be willing to fight first and then think. If they overthink, then their Wealth Spirit overshadows their own personality.

The only example of someone who was born with Jia Wood day master in the month of the Dragon with Geng Metal next to the day master in the Heavenly Stems of the natal chart that I could find for you is Oscar Zeta Acosta. His natal chart is here:

己甲庚乙
巳寅辰亥

Oscar Zeta Acosta was a lawyer and leader in the Chicano Power movement. He protected all kinds of people from activists to abused women to transpeople to trafficked girls. He was huge. He helped organize the Chicano Walkouts and, when LAPD started to stalk him, he ran for office on the promise that he would abolish the sherrif's office. He used his campaign to bring Latinos in Los Angeles together.

In his natal chart, Acosta is a flowering tree. In his life, he was known for carrying a briefcase adorned with flowers and a Chicano Power sticker. However, he wasn't just a skilled lawyer and storyteller who won case after case. Geng Metal sits next to Acosta's Jia Wood day master.

This man had intense drive. In his autobiography, he starts off by talking about going to the bathroom in the morning and this scene almost like a war scene because his body is a battleground. Acosta has all kinds of ulcers, holes in his stomach, from growing up in the conditions that he did but he pulls through. He was famous for saying things like "I am not a lawyer, I am a warlord" and "I don't need the law. I've got my own sense of justice!"

Acosta had what classical Chinese astrologers would call a "top level" chart. He was born as strong, flowering wood. When you have a strong day master like that, the concern is that you will lose control because you're too impulsive. But Acosta has Geng Metal. He was disciplined, a warrior who never lost control because he wasn't afraid of responsibility. Not only was he strong, he also used his strength towards a principled goal. He was destined for political power and he took it by building a movement. This is what flowering wood looks like in its highest destiny.

This kind of chart is rare. That's why it's a high grade destiny. You have to meet all its conditions: strong Jia Wood, Dragon month command, Geng Metal in the stems directly next to the day master. Not many people can meet all the conditions.

What happens if Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon doesn't have Seven Killings in the Heavenly Stems of the natal chart? I'll give two more examples: one of someone who still has Seven Killings but trapped in the Earthly Branches and one of someone who doesn't have Seven Killings at all.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, world famous poker player, has Seven Killings in his day branch but it doesn't appear in the Heavenly Stems. He also has both Ding Fire and Bing Fire in the Heavenly Stems which control metal and trap it in place. Here is his natal chart:

丁甲丙癸
卯申辰卯

Again, the concern for Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon is that these people will be too reckless. The presence of Seven Killings gives the person focus and discipline which is needed. Ferguson has discipline but it's hidden and it gets melted by his very strong fire before it can take shape as an externally oriented goal. He's not as goal oriented as someone who has Geng Metal in the stems. He's not completely reckless either but he can lose control if he gets too excited.

The bigger issue with Ferguson's chart is that he has two Rob Wealths in his hour and year pillars. When Jia Wood born with Indirect Wealth month command faces Rob Wealth, you run into a situation where you think that someone else will take your stuff all the time.

Ferguson is a world famous poker player. He has won tens of millions of dollars by gambling. He sits at that table, facing his Rob Wealth spirits, and he has cultivated the skill of guarding his wealth.

Poker players have skill. However, Ferguson's chart is a slight downgrade from Acosta's chart because his Geng Metal remains hidden and he's not a driven as a result. With all the fire in the stems, Ferguson gets distracted by self promotion.

Lastly, we can take a look at someone with a very, very strange chart pattern. This individual is Jia Wood day master born in the month of the Dragon where it sits on its Indirect Wealth spirit. Not only is his day master and month command wood and earth, the rest of his chart is too:

乙甲戊己
丑戌辰卯

Both Ox and Dog have a little Xin Metal but it's trapped as a hidden stem inside of earth and it's Xin Metal, not the coarse Geng Metal that the chart needs. Moreover, both Wu Earth and Ji Earth appear in the Heavenly Stems to make Wealth Spirit extremely strong for this individual.

If the wood in the chart were weaker and the person had a weaker personality, then the chart could become Follow Wealth structure and the person would devote themselves to one project to build disciplien that way. However, the day master is strong and the person has a really strong personality. Moreover, all of the Wealth Spirit is operating at different directions.

If you imagine each of this person's Wealth Spirits as a separate project that he has to fund and can't stop himself from gambling on, you'll realize why having overwhelming Wealth Spirit is not great for Jia Wood born in the spring. It's just too many gambles. The day master becomes extremely busy. The person tries to generate opportunities for every idea that it comes up and life becomes totally chaotic. Wealth Spirit can also represent lovers and this person might have several who all have expectations for him.

This person is tremendously talented not just at one craft but several. However, their goals are also scattered as a result. They are reckless.

This is actually the chart of Francis Ford Coppola. Francis Ford Coppola has a lot of separate businesses from vineyards to wine brands to resorts to his own production company to the many movies that he directs. He made a bunch of money due to The Godfather movies one and two but he lost all his money for Apocalypse Now and had to make Godfather three to come out even. He sold his vineyard to fund Megalopolis.

Obviously, he is fine. Coppola is very rich, talented, and accomplished. However, the issue in the natal chart is that he keeps trying to gamble on opportunities in several directions which will stress his day master out and drain his energy. If a classical Chinese astrologer looked at his chart, they would probably say that he needs metal to rescue his chart and give him focus. As it is now, the chart generates a lot of opportunity and wealth but keeps losing it due to a love of gambling.

In short, Jia Wood in the month of the Dragon really just needs drive and focus. If it doesn't have that, the person is actually fine because Jia Wood is not really facing that much danger in the spring. Usually, these people are already talented and brilliance. However, without Geng Metal, the person does run the risk of having the mindset of always trying to create opportunities and becoming a gambler. If this happens, then the person can feel really stressful. They have a lot of projects and lovers who all need their attention. They may even feel overshadowed by their own talent or their own lover.

If the chart has have Geng Metal, then the person is focused. If the chart has Geng Metal in the stems, then the person will confront the powerful and use its skill for a higher purpose. They won't just be talented or skilled which is all Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon. They will throw the weight of their personality into a purpose and make impossible things possible.

If Jia Wood born in the month of the Dragon has direct contact with Seven Killings, then the person makes history. They don't just create opportunity. They create power. No one can stop them.
