One of the misconceptions that people tend to have about Scorpio is that Scorpio never forgives. There's a cartoonish caricature of Scorpio floating around: secretive holder of grudges, unwilling to let any small slight go.
Scorpio is not like this. If you are a Scorpio, then you'll know what I mean.
Scorpio, as a personality, is actually quite forgiving. However, they don't just let things go. They want to know why you did what you did and they will use every psychological method known to man to investigate and examine your range of behaviors. They require the same level of curiosity that they give you back. When you are just as curious about human behavior and the inner workings of people are Scorpio is, you'll find that they are easily empathic as long as you are willing to sit with them and fully understand why you do the things you do, why they do the things they do, and what actually happened between the two of you.
This curious nature of the Scorpio doesn't just apply to hurts and problems. They're just as curious about anything.
If you're the type to try and breeze past issues, then you'll feel as though Scorpio refuses to let anything go. But if you're the type to pause and fully understand, you'll realize that Scorpio isn't trapped in the situation. They'll moving deeper. They want to seek emotional catharsis through thorough understanding and they're simply not satisfied until they do.
One of the misconceptions that people have about Pisces is that Pisces forgives anything. You can do whatever you want to a Pisces and they'll just let it go. This is a cartoonish reading of the Pisces: constantly forgetful and such a doormat that they'll allow anything.
Pisces also doesn't quite live up their own stereotypes.
Pisces is constantly reading you. There's actually very little that gets past a Pisces because they will notice every single hesitation or Freudian slip that you make. Not only does Pisces notice everything that happens, they also can make a pretty accurate intuitive guess about why you acted the way you did sometimes even before you yourself know. If you do a Pisces wrong, they can have a hard time holding a grudge but this is not because Pisces can endure more pain than other people. It's because they can guess why you acted the way you did and they know when you did not act out of malice.
As you can probably guess, Scorpio and Pisces have some pretty deep emotional connections. These are people who slow down and investigate every moment of friction in a relationship.
Scorpio and Pisces are extremely attentive people. That psychological unraveling that Scorpios likes before they reach emotional catharsis? Pisces is ready. That constant wavering between two significant truths that Pisces likes to do before they find their way? Scorpio is already there.
Scorpio and Pisces are the best friends who just completely get each other. They know all of one another's sore spots and traumas. They can reasonably predict each other—not always because people are unpredictable—but to a reasonable extent and so much so that they feel that the other person just knows how to read them. Even when they don't predict each other, they understand each other the way water signs do.
Scorpio picks up the phone and is about to give Pisces a call when a call comes through: Pisces is calling them. "I knew that you would want to talk," Pisces tells Scorpio when Scorpio picks up. "You're always in a bad mood right after a job interview. You had one this afternoon, didn't you?"
Of course, Scorpio is a lot more outwardly inquisitive than Pisces. Scorpio has the odd habit of firing off a rapid series of questions towards an unsuspecting layperson. This is a sport to Scorpio. They're just curious. They'll ask you questions about things they know about too just to test you out and see what you're all about. This is classic Scorpio-style flirtation. If your intellectual banter style intrigues Scorpio, then they'll keep chasing you.
If Scorpio ever does this to a Pisces, they'll quickly find that underneath this whimsical, happy-go-luck seeming personality lurks a true intellectual sparring partner worthy of continued engagement.
The thing about Pisces is that they can read your intentions. They happen to know which of Scorpio's many questions are asked out of true curiosity and which are just for shits and giggles. They can intuit which should be answered sincerely and which should be laughed off and how. Pisces is capable of reflecting Scorpio's questions with complete honesty and frankness while also keeping Scorpio guessing about what they are actually thinking. Pisces can guess what Scorpio wants.
How does Pisces do this? How do they give full honesty while maintaining intrigue?
A Pisces never lies but they will change their minds and they'll even do so in the middle of a statement. A Pisces gives you the feeling that they don't quite know their own mind yet and that, by speaking it to you, they're just finding out about it themselves. All of this is incredibly fascinating for a Scorpio who, yes, really does want to know not just what you are thinking but how you are coming to know your own mind.
But Pisces whimsy is also capable of overwhelming a Scorpio. I've heard a Scorpio say to me about Pisces, "You just can't argue with them!" And you can't. A Pisces, while talking out loud to convince themselves that they don't really believe what they think because there must be another layer of hidden truth beneath the surface that they're just starting to come to see, will have you doubting your own mind right there with them. This is a classic Pisces conversational style. "Do you believe me? I'm not sure I believe myself," they seem to be saying wide eyed and all innocent looking. Inside, you start to think, "Can I believe myself?"
Scorpio, as the truth-hound of the zodiac, is like a detective chasing after evidence. Pisces has the power to confound this truth-hound because Pisces can change the truth. Both are fascinated by mystery but Pisces is entertained it while Scorpio unravels it. Back and forth, they swirl around some complex or problem until they reach the very kernel of truth inside. Once there, Pisces turns the kernel around—what if you looked at it from another angle?
