I actually already wrote an article about Scorpio Aquarius relationships. However, that article was more of an exploration of all of the fixed signs as signs demarcating four seasons. Today, I’ll write another article that goes into the more colorful nuances between Scorpio and Aquarius.

First of all, Scorpios are very interested in Aquariuses. This is a thing. Now, you might be a Scorpio who doesn’t like Aquarius or whatever but you still can’t deny that there exists a general tendency for Scorpios to be interested in Aquarius. In my other article, I explained this as Scorpio being about the beginning of winter and Aquarius being the coldest time. Scorpio season literally chases Aquarius season because you preserve a bunch of food during it to prepare for the coldest time.

Scorpios are always thinking about Aquarius. Anticipating Aquarius. Missing Aquarius. Trying to guess what Aquarius will do next.

I feel like this is a tormented position to find oneself in, to be thinking perpetually of an Aquarius. You see, Aquarius is a cold sign. It’s the sign of the distant Sun when you take a realistic look at who you are and what you can give. Aquarius gives one the impression of always not having enough energy. Dinner on me tonight? Aquarius is too tired. Want to cuddle later? Aquarius doesn’t want to be touched because they need more sleep. Text back please? Aquarius doesn’t have enough time. They are already too overwhelmed.

Aquarius loves self denial. They like to save good things for later because they were born during the coldest season, a time of not having enough. A lot of Aquariuses fear what might happen if they are caught not having enough and that’s why they are so slow moving.

Scorpio? Scorpio is the sign of intimacy because it’s during the fall. Scorpio are obsessed with give and take.

The reason why so many Scorpios become interested in Aquarius is because Aquarius doesn’t really like to give a lot of attention. Aquarius has the ability to make you feel as though they barely notice that you are there, especially when they are very into you. They might make you feel most invisible when they really like you because Aquarius is the king of self denial. This drives Scorpio absolutely nuts.

This is what Aquarius is like on the outside: friendly, bubbly, and very open. This is what Scorpio is like on the outside: guarded, skeptical, and very sarcastic. This is what Aquarius is like on the inside: interested, patient, and somewhat clingy. This is what Scorpio is like on the inside: deeply invested, caring, and impossible soft.

What does Aquarius like? Aquarius likes a best friend. To an Aquarius, their best friend is their most deep and committed relationship. Aquarius wants all of their lovers to be their best friend.

Scorpio is probably the sign that excels best at being a best friend. Scorpios show up for you when it’s hard. They take you seriously. They tell you off when you need someone too but so gently because they’ve been there too and they’re not trying to punish you.

The initial push-pull between Scorpio and Aquarius can be intense. They are very attracted to each other, Scorpio to Aquarius because Aquarius seems like a person who has secrets who is waiting to be vulnerable with the right person and Aquarius to Scorpio because Scorpio seems like a reliable person who always tells the truth. However, the road to intimacy between the two signs can be a bumpy one because, again, Aquarius is slow moving while Scorpio actually hates to wait for people who they’re into.

However, if they make it through the initial getting-to-know-you-phase, these two signs have plenty of reasons to stick together. Both Scorpio and Aquarius are private people who happen to know a lot about other people’s secrets. Both of them have plenty that they will not share. Both are loyal and will generally rebel emotionally by revoking their loyalty. Both are jealous but aroused by group sex.

Both are fixed signs. They’re actually both slow moving.

Actually, maybe what torments Scorpio Aquarius relationships is also the main thing that draws Scorpios and Aquariuses together. Scorpio hates that feeling of waiting for someone else’s response but…they also kind of love it. It’s intense but they don’t mind waiting for someone who will also wait for them. And Aquarius isn’t someone who is trying to play games with gaps of silence or pauses. They’re just slow moving. They will also wait for you.

The thing that tends to be the friction point? Scorpios need intimate attention very deeply. They love getting married. They love cohabitation, sharing everything they have, and commitment. Aquarius prefers to rethink what makes a relationship a relationship altogether.

I think that Scorpios will be patient and wait and wait for an Aquarius to come closer because that’s romantic and hot and Scorpios like that. Aquarius will come closer and closer when Scorpio waits for them because Aquarius is a Saturnian and they trust when it’s slow. But then? Aquarius can move away suddenly. Scorpio lurches to grasp and hates how they feel clinging the way they do because they sense that Aquarius is not moving away randomly but because something happened that was scary even if Aquarius hasn’t figured out how to put it into words for themselves yet. They know this because they’ve been there too.

Aquarius will draw closer and closer to you when you give them time and patience but they’re not consistent. They will suddenly feel faraway like they teleported or something. Have you ever seen an Aquarius walk? They’re all over the place. They put more pressure on the left foot and then the right and then they do a little skip and trip a bit. That’s just how they move: unpredictable. Even their own bodies surprise them.

Whether these two fixed signs stay together (because let’s face it: fixed signs usually want to stick together) depends on whether the Scorpio is willing to accept Aquarius’s unpredictability. A lot are which is why you see so many Scorpio Aquarius couples around. To Aquarius, they don’t feel in control of this. Aquarius is a sign that isn’t in control of their emotions or physical bodies. They don’t even try to exert any control here. They merely analyze.

Scorpio will need to understand that Aquarius isn’t trying to control their own emotional narratives. Aquariuses see the world as absurd and their own feelings as random. They don’t construct full narratives, just pieces of a narrative collaged together temporarily.

Scorpio is different. They need a full emotional narrative and this takes time to construct. So, Aquarius will need to pay closer attention. They will need to care more, to put more care in, to be more careful. They will learn, with Scorpio, that emotional focus brings depth.

I think that Scorpio and Aquarius is one of my favorite couples, honestly. I think that it’s also one of the most common couples around. There’s a lot of Scorpios in romantic relationships with Aquariuses, a lot of push and pull with interesting things happening. These two signs challenge each other the most. Their relationships are never dull.
