Libra Pisces Relationships

On the surface, Libra and Pisces can read as quite similar. Both love to hang out. Both are incredibly sweet. Both are secretly a bit socially anxious but no one can see it. Venus, the ruler of Libra, exalts in Pisces and this shared dignity of Venus can make the two signs act very similar to the unobservant eye.

However, Libras and Pisces run into one very important difference: Libra is the king of boundaries. Libra happens to be the zodiac sign that exalts Saturn.

You might not know this about Libras because they seem so agreeable or conversational depending on the mood of your interaction with them. Blending into their surroundings is just a facet of Libra existence. However—have you ever noticed that Libra will quietly disagree with you using rhetoric that camouflages their own disagreement? They don't escalate conflicts. They keep it at a distance using a certain coolness of personality. In fact, sometimes a Libra will use surface level agreeability just to keep people who they don't like at bay.

Libras are incredibly well organized socially. They know when to speak and when to keep to themselves in a way that best promotes smoothness.

Pisces, on the surface, is also someone who wants to get along with other people. But the reasons why Libra and Pisces both seem to blend into their social surroundings is quite different. Libras simply don't want to stand out while Pisces do not actually mean to blend in—they just can't seem to stop imagining what it would be like to walk around in everybody else's shoes.

Pisces are quantum thinkers. A Pisces going through a situation can think of seven different emotional narratives about how they might be feeling and believe all seven of those emotional trajectories to be true simultaneously.

A typical interaction between a Libra and a Pisces goes something like this: they get along, riffing off of one another's jokes, acting goofy, and nothing feels awkward at all. Then, Pisces sort-of-kind-of guesses how Libra may be feeling.

"Oh you must have feeling very lonely," Pisces tells their dear Libra friend as Libra recounts an experience they had with a coworker that stole their chair. "Work really bring up all my family shit too and you and me both have a lot of grief about neglect. You must have acted really mad." You'll notice that Libra will take a step back as soon as they hear these words. Next, they're telling Pisces, "No, I wasn't angry. I didn't say anything angry when it happened. Did I seem angry to you?"

"Don't worry. The anger is just the surface layer," Pisces assures, not realizing that Libra is quite concerned about how they come across.

It's nothing big and Pisces doesn't mean to overstep. Pisces truly doesn't mean to diagnose your emotions for you. They're just such good guessers about human experience and they've already slid right into your shoes, imagining themselves in your situation.

You see, Libras need at least a week to understand what they are feeling. When someone else comes in, emoting and telling Libra how they must be feeling much too soon, Libra can feel overwhelmed. Overcrowded. Claustrophobic or drowned. They feel as though they are not given enough time to describe and narrate their own experience for themselves.

For Pisces, guessing how someone else might be feeling to relate to them just seems like empathy 101. They wouldn't mind when it happens to them, even when the person doing the guessing is wrong because Pisces thinks that, sure, they might be feeling angry about a coworker stealing their chair and they might also be feeling embarrassed about caring simultaneously and they might be feeling incredibly lonely on the inside and all of those things can be true at the same time without negating the others. Pisces feels on a quantum level while Libra swings between two possibilities like a pendulum.

Pisces is primiarily Jupiterians while Libra is under the influence of Saturn. Libra, a Saturnian sign, is mainly selective. Pisces, a Jupiterian sign, believes that all things can be true at once. Saturnians can feel incredibly overwhelmed by Jupiterians while Jupiterians can feel constrained by Saturnians.

But don't get me wrong. These two signs can share space and be great friends too. Both signs dignify Venus in different ways. Both Libra and Pisces are really people who want people to come together. They are whimsical in love and fall for romance easily. They love changing their appearance, love the arts, and love to play. They're both funny. They are both willing to make personal sacrifices in order to build stronger cooperation.

I think that a relationship between a Libra and a Pisces can feel incredibly idealistic at moments. Both of these very romantic signs have certain ways of thinking about relationships, love, and friendship that they just love to think about and talk about. Whimsy turns into experimentation. Both signs are open and sociable, willing to see how it goes with anyone. Both have strong ethics and want to treat other people well.

Libra and Pisces do share the same almost idealistic ethics about relationship building—neither are selfish, both care about other people a lot, and both love being a part of a community. They can become close and love each other a great deal when they make room for their differences.

For Pisces, that means not rushing a Libra. Libras need time to know their feelings. They're not trying to be cold or uninterested. They're trying to buy themselves more time because they need it. Intuition, for Libra, is not spontaneous but analytical. It's something that they carefully mull over, refining over time. That's why Libra can so sharply read themselves. They take their time. When a Libra really knows themselves, no one can sway them.

For Libra, this means letting Pisces theorize. Pisces are a gentle people. Imagination is how they process things and, if they're wrong, then they will just take a step back. If a Pisces makes an approximation about what you might be feeling and it's not the time, they don't get offended if you tell them to take a step back. The reason why they speculate in the first place is because they're trying to make you feel held.

When Libra and Pisces relationships work really well, it's usually not because they rely on their shared affinity for Venus but because they both see and make room for one another very different paces of emotional processing. Both signs want to be good to each other. One moves slowly and deliberately. The other moves wildly and speculatively.
