Leo Pisces Relationships

In my opinion, Leo and Pisces make one of the strangest but most interesting pairings. Yes, the two signs are in aversion. Yes, Leo is fixed fire and Pisces is mutable water. Yes, they're not supposed to make sense together but you might have noticed that there's quite a few happy Leo and Pisces couples out there. If you are a Leo or a Pisces, you might know that the two signs together can feel almost addictive because there is so much chemistry.

And if you doubt me, just hear me out.

Leo likes to stay—how do I put it?—on the bright side of life. Speaking as a water Moon, the life of a Leo can be shockingly earnest in the best way possible. When Leo has a strong idea about what it means to do the right thing or be a good person, they just go and do that. It's like they have no doubts (even when they do). They just assume that they are strong enough or brave enough to do the right thing no matter what.

Leo is incredibly upfront and they don't fuck around. If you feel that you have a complicated relationship with a Leo because you argued recently but then your housing falls through and you need help, you might be surprised to see that Leo come bounding back into your life with arms outstretched ready to move you in as though they have absolutely no memory of what happened between you two. They're just going to be there for you because they are a good friend no matter what.

Pisces is a water sign. Pisces is a lot more interested in shadows, in internal contradictions and moral qualms. It's the two fish swimming in opposite directions but tied together at the tail. Pisces makes room for all emotional stories, even the contradictory ones.

Let's say that Pisces is renarrating a fight they had with their sister to Leo. Pisces will dwell and meander. They will say things like, "Yes, I was very selfish in the moment but my selfishness was also me being vulnerable" or "I kind of expressed a real boundary but I don't think I was truthful about why I needed that boundary." These types of sticky and tricky statements make sense to a Pisces because they're constantly thinking about the multiple meanings of one emotional encounter.

But Leo? Leo hears all that and thinks, "My god! My friend and lover is calling themselves selfish and dishonest! I'm not sure why but they must be feeling bad about themselves. We need to put an end to this right now so they feel good about themselves again."

That's when the Leo gushing starts. They tell Pisces that they're so brave, that they were truthful, that they're a good sibling for sure. Leo says this with a fierce fire in their eyes, the kind that they get when they're watching out for someone who they love, and their dominant way of speech leaves Pisces no more room for self doubt. This is Leo exorcising and chasing away your demons like a ghosthunter.

For Pisces, this incongruency can actually be great. Pisces carries around a huge amount of emotional complexity but, within that complexity lurks several old ghosts that remain attached to them from their past. What Leo gives Pisces is very different from what a fellow water sign gives but there's no doubt about it. It's something that Pisces needs. Sometimes, Pisces doesn't need someone who will linger in complexity with them. They are perfectly capable of doing that on their own and they need the person who will shine a bright light in and kick away the shadows without engaging with the ghosts.

And Leo? Leo sees Pisces's quiet but consistent kindness. Leo sees the way that Pisces shows up even when their mind contains multitude of moral questions and doubts because a Leo will judge you by your actions and not your temporary emotional states. Leo will always find something to admire with the people who treat them well. You have to keep in mind—Leo can be very simple in terms of desire. They are attracted to people who like them enough to be kind to them.

I think that Pisces is pretty good at that. Pisces is usually kind because, no matter where you're coming from, they will try to understand you better.

With Leo and Pisces, there is no battle of egos or control. Leo feels held and safe because Pisces, extremely tolerant, accept everything even Leo's contradictions. With Pisces, Leo feel like they are free to be themselves which is the only thing that a Leo really just wants.

So, I think that the relationship between Leo and Pisces is a case where you can't just rely on two astrological principle. You can't stick to the rule that signs which are in aversion to one another are always going to be at odds or unable to understand each other. You have to consider the signs themselves.

Leo is the sign that dignifies the Sun. That's why Leo just wants to be accepted and known as who they truly are. That's also why their presences feels like a bright light, a ray of compliments and encouragement that literally chases away your demons. Leo generally likes people who like them and, a lot of the time, that's all there is to it.

Pisces is one of the signs that dignifies Jupiter. Pisces is a really optimistic spirit who will try to see the best things about you to the best of their ability. The reason why Pisces likes to dig deep psychologically isn't because they're trying to pry. They are just trying to understand the hidden doubts and suspicions tucked away inside of you because they want to soothe what is uncertain.

Pisces believes in you and looks for the best in you and Leo loves that. Leo admires you and Pisces finds grounding in that. Both signs are attracted to kindness and both provide it in spades.

That said, the aversion still applies. However, two signs who respect one another who are in aversion will have a very different quality than two signs who struggle to find mutual respect. You have to realize that Leo and Pisces get along not because they understand everything about each other but because the aversion and mutual tolerance provide each other with enough space to live in their own world alongside each other.

Leo can help Pisces relax. They can feel Pisces's most tricky shadows even if they don't engage with them directly. When Leo faces someone who needs secrets to protect their hidden layers, Leo does not pry. They leave it alone. Leo sees your own contradictions are largely your own business. Pisces can appreciate Leo indifference because Pisces experiences it as the space that they need to understand what they deny for themselves. Giving someone space can be a way of holding them.

Pisces can also help Leo relax. Sometimes, Leo runs into the problem of holding a lot of responsibility and weight for a big group of people. Because Pisces tolerates a lot of uncertainty and wavering, Pisces can help Leo anchor themselves not in one idea of self but in the flow and pattern of how they move. Pisces believes in the future you—this belief in possibility helps Leo relax around how they are carrying themselves in the present.

In Leo and Pisces relationships, both people tend to need and give a lot of space. They're generally not the type of couples or friends or siblings who feel the need to do everything together. They look for security from within, holding their own friend groups and world independently, and they come together now and then to surprise one another. They don't need to know everything about the other one. They trust and respect each other from their own worlds.

So, I think that this is why you hear about all of these Leo and Pisces relationships that span thirty or twenty years. There's something about the two signs that just make sense even with the aversion. Maybe it's because both Leo and Pisces looks for the best in people while tolerating a lot of space and autonomy. They're both drawn to the kind of relationship that two signs in aversion tend to build together.
