The thing about Aries and Pisces relationships is that they will often escalate towards intimacy very quickly.
That's not just on the Aries. Yes, Aries is a sign known for its speed. When an Aries wants something, they can pursue their goal very, very quickly because they develop a tunnel vision around that goal that no one can snap them out of. This goes for relationships too where an Aries will often just ask you straight up if you want to make out or not, unaware that direct questions like this one can rush an encounter.
It's also the Pisces. Pisces is a very generous sign, one who shares what they're going through and their most whimsical and sorrowful thoughts quite randomly. Pisces is vulnerable almost as a habit. That habit of vulnerability, the Pisces's confessional conversational style, can quickly accelerate intimacy.
Aries, on the other hand, is very casual. No one matter who you are, an Aries is likely to treat you like their bro right away because that's simply how an Aries conducts social interactions.
It's really this mix of relaxed casualness, direct questions, habitual vulnerability, and confessional conversations that has a tendency of accelerating Aries and Pisces relationships very spontaneously. An Aries and a Pisces might meet for the first time and, before they know it, they're talking on the phone every day about their childhoods and secrets. They become each other's go to person in about three months.
I think that fast intimacies, like Aries and Pisces relationships, can be a lot of fun. Who doesn't like making a fast friend? When you accelerate relationships quickly, you feel an exhilarating sense of trust, almost as though the whole world around you could be your friend if you would only introduce yourself and say hi.
And that's precisely the virtue and folly that Aries and Pisces have in common. Both Aries and Pisces are extremely trusting people.
Aries trusts themselves first. That's why they can put themselves in uncomfortable situations without breaking a sweat. They don't necessarily trust you or the situation but they know how they intend to act and they're not gonna let anyone make them try to be anyone else. That uncanny ability to stick to being exactly who they are can make Aries go into a lot of situations that more careful types would cautiously avoid. Aries will put themselves in risky situations because they think that they can handle it.
Pisces trusts other people even when they don't know those people very well yet. That's actually not a sign of naivete like some people think. A Pisces is often the person who has gotten scammed the least despite its tendency to trust and believe in people. A Pisces trusts people because a Pisces believes that, if you look for the goodness in people and amplify that, people will try to treat you well to the best of their ability. If they can't, if circumstances constrain our goodness, then a Pisces will play it by ear. Pisces has a strong intuition, one that tells them how to create relationships that can transform other people through connection.
So, you can probably guess how Aries Pisces relationships tend to go. Neither Aries nor Pisces tend to approach relationships with much caution. They feel like they can be themselves right away.
Aries and Pisces are the kind of people to make up silly, inappropriate inside jokes right away. They become attached at the hip, creating an inner world for two that outsiders can't easily penetrate. They create such rapid closeness that they can confuse themselves for each other.
The issue with fast relationships, which again are usually fun and exciting, is that they often build a ton of closeness before you learn to set and negotiate boundaries. That boundary setting, that negotiating of who we are to each other and who we are to ourselves when we're not with each other, has to happen at some point.
What happens when a pair of very fast and close friends runs into a major point of difference? Ideally, you work it out and a lot of Aries and Pisces do just that. When that happens, it's cool. You don't always have to give yourself space early on if you remember to do it later on.
And then sometimes, if you're the kind of person who is used to fast intimacy because you don't realize that you're allowed to be around people without explaining every aspect of who you are, you might lack the skills for building boundaries slowly without trying to manage how other people respond to you. What you end up doing is a relationship pattern that I think a lot of Aries and Pisces are familiar with: you drop out of the relationship entirely. You burn the bridge.
Aries likes to make the self known. "This is me. What are you going to do about it?" Pisces likes to elucidate intimacy. They can often describe the imperceptible, changing dynamics of a relationship with poetic precision.
Neither Aries nor Pisces like to leave things unexplained and neither of them like to be in relationships where they must hide any aspect of themselves. When they feel misunderstood, both of them can have a bad reaction.
Building the boundaries that you need to allow someone to truly know you in real time takes a lot of patience. That's time spent feeling like you want closeness or not wanting it—time waiting for your own responses to come. Giving yourself time and space when you expect closeness to come faster can feel excruciating. You feel yourself twitch for a response from the other person. You feel like you're holding yourself back for no reason—no reason except that you need to give yourself time to be yourself when you're not texting your new lover or best friend.
Even though both Aries and Pisces are signs known for their speed of getting close to other people, Aries because it is Mars's sign and Pisces because it is Jupiter's (Jupiter accelerates processes), I think that they can both slow down if they choose to. The tendency to pursue the kind of fast love that feels more like addictive limerence than mutual understanding is still there but there's no reason why people can't slow down after they get close. You just have to make sure that a belated distance does not have to break the closeness that you have already built.
